An exciting link between Sigma Sixth and Cambridge University has led to students being given a taste of university life.
Sigma Scholars visited Emmanuel College, part of Cambridge University, and took part in a range of workshops aimed at preparing students for future applications to some of the best universities in the country.
The students also had the opportunity of participating in a university seminar, providing a real-life university experience.
A spokesman for Sigma Sixth said: “Students were able to confidently discuss their views and they were a real credit.
“Sigma Sixth’s link with Emmanuel College is an exciting opportunity and one that we will be looking to maximise for our future students.”
Meanwhile, four Year 12 sixth form students from Sigma Sixth Tendring have been accepted on to the Lucy Cavendish Academic Enrichment programme.
Evie Croll, Jamie Croll, Jonathon Williams and David Dziewiecki will be taking part in the programme at the University of Cambridge.
The programme is aimed at supporting high achieving Year 12 students throughout their time at Sigma Sixth.
The students will receive academic support, super-curricular enrichment opportunities and advice during the university application process.
