Harwich Education Partnership receives top teaching award

A long-standing partnership between a cohort of local schools has been recognised with a prestigious education award.

The Harwich Education Partnership has won an Essex Teaching Award with judges praising the “shared vision and purpose” of the group of schools, which includes seven primary schools and Harwich and Dovercourt High School.

The Partnership was named the winner of the ‘School Partnership Award’ after it created a “truly inspiring” diversity and inclusion festival earlier this year.

Announcing the award, the judges said: “What sets this group apart is their dedication to involving not just pupils, but parents and the wider community in meaningful, inclusive experiences.

“Working collaboratively and in partnership with the Tendring Cultural Education Partnership, they brought together local sponsors and community organisations to create an event that was both powerful and joyful.”

The Harwich Education Partnership is a group of schools who work together to improve the social, emotional and academic outcomes of the children within the partnership schools.

It comprises of All Saints Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School, Chase Lane Primary School and Nursery, Harwich Community Primary School and Nursery, Mayflower Primary School, Spring Meadow Primary School and School House Nursery, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Two Village Church of England Primary School and Harwich and Dovercourt High School.

Kate Finch, headteacher at Harwich and Dovercourt High School, said: “On behalf of the entire Harwich Education Partnership, we are delighted to receive this award.

“The partnership is a true example of schools working together and closely with our community for the benefit of all.”

The Essex Teaching Awards, organised by Essex County Council, gives the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the inspirational work of early years and childcare practitioners, teachers and school staff within Essex.
