Consultation on The Sigma Trust Admission Arrangements 2027/28

The Sigma Trust is consulting on the 2027/28 admissions policies for the following academies within The Sigma Trust:

• Clacton County High School
• Paxman Academy
• Sigma Sixth Colchester – Philip Morant School & College (PMSC)
• Sigma Sixth Tendring - Clacton County High School (CCHS)

The DfE’s 2021 statutory ‘School Admissions Code’ guidance requires the Trust to consult on admission arrangements when changes are proposed and at least once every seven years.

Due to long-term place planning forecasts, we are proposing the following changes for admissions in to Year 7 in the 2027/2028 academic year:

Clacton County High School

We are proposing a reduction in the Published Admission Number (PAN) from 336 to 308 pupils.

Paxman Academy

We are proposing a reduction in the Published Admission Number (PAN) from 180 to 168 pupils.

Sigma Sixth Tendring (CCHS) and Sigma Sixth Colchester (PMSC)

We are consulting on the admission arrangements for the Trust’s sixth forms provisions: Sigma Sixth Tendring (CCHS) and Sigma Sixth Colchester (PMSC).

The consultation period will run from Friday, 19th December 2025 until Friday, 30th January 2026; during this time, parents/interested parties are invited to express their views and any concerns about the proposed changes to the admission arrangements at Clacton County High School, Paxman Academy, Sigma Sixth Tendring (CCHS) or Sigma Sixth Colchester (PMSC).

In accordance with statutory DfE guidance, the consultation will run for at least six weeks and, as an interested party, we are keen to hear your views on the proposed changes; therefore, we invite you to participate in the consultation if you have any concerns regarding the matter.

Please note that written responses should outline your personal details, including your name, address and relationship to the academy.

At the end of the consultation period, the Trust Board will meet to consider responses. The outcome of the consultation will be published on The Trust and the individual academy’s websites as soon as possible following a decision being reached by the Board.
