Asda store supports school ‘help yourself’ shop for families
A school ‘swap shop’ that encourages and supports families with everyday household items has been supported by its local Asda store.
Holland Park Primary School in Clacton opened the ‘HP-HY’ bank earlier this year offering food items, hygiene products and some clothing items.
And they have now been supported by the town’s Asda store in Bull Hill Road who have donated a range of hygiene products.
School headteacher Matthew Moseley said: “The ‘HP-HY’ facility has enabled families to help themselves to items that will go some way to ease the burden of the cost of living crisis.
“But without kind and generous donations from both our staff and families and now our local Asda store, it would not be possible to run this service. We thank them all for helping in this way.”
Amy Openshaw, Asda community champion, said: “We pride ourselves on being part our local community and helping local causes as much as possible.
“So we are delighted to support Holland Park Primary School with a donation of hygiene and cleaning products.”
The HP-HY bank, named after the school and the fact the school want families to ‘help yourself’, is situated in one of Holland Park’s colourful beach huts on the playground.
