Sixth form opportunities expand in Harwich

STUDENTS attended a red carpet event in Dovercourt to find out about new sixth form options with Sigma Sixth.

Harwich and Dovercourt Sixth Form College’s (HDSFC) Year 11s went to the event at the college to find out about opportunities with the trust.

HDSFC will retain its current provision which includes a range of A-level and vocational subjects.

Known as the Tendring Campus, both HDSFC and Clacton County High Sixth Form will offer their students the chance to travel across both sites to access vocational courses, Chelsea Football Club Academy Training and a range of A-levels.

Sarah Parker, head of sixth form, said: “This is the perfect opportunity for our students who do not want to travel to Colchester or Suffolk to access even more academic A-levels, whilst remaining in Harwich.

“We are very excited about the new partnership across Sigma Colleges and what doors this will open for our students in Harwich”.

The evening was a huge success and just the beginning of the new Sixth Form promotion. Current Year 12 student Charlotte who helped at the evening said. “I love coming to college here as my teachers know me so well and always go above and beyond to help me succeed.”

We look forward to seeing our Sixth Form grow, and our students flourish.
