Air ambulance pays a visit to high school students

Air ambulance staff revealed their brand new helicopter to students and parents by landing it on a school field.

The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance landed at Harwich and Dovercourt High School to give students the chance to speak to the ambulance team about their occupations on Tuesday.

The school’s learning community, called Windsor Learning, has sponsored the ambulance as their chosen charity, which is why it landed on the school field as part of its tour of Essex.

The ambulance is an Agusta Westland 169, which is the charity’s first purchased helicopter, with the majority of the £6.5million provided by public donations.

Due to the public support the charity received, the air ambulance is touring Essex and has visited places including the University of Essex, in Colchester, which has supported the charity.
