Trustees are responsible for governing and exercising all the powers of the Trust. This includes:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, values and strategic direction.
- Holding the CEO to account for the educational performance of the Trust’s academies
- Overseeing the financial performance of the Trust and ensuring legal compliance.
What Trustees are we looking for?
Education Trustee
The Sigma Trust is seeking Trustees with strong educational leadership experience to join its committed Board. The ideal candidates will have experience working in challenging or deprived areas and be experts in either primary, early years or SEND.

The Sigma Trust is seeking an empathetic HR Trustee with significant experience in people and culture strategy, ideally within an organisation of similar scale. Candidates should have a strong background in HR leadership from any background, such as a commercial organisation, university, charity, or public sector institution.

Finance Trustee
The Sigma Trust is seeking a Finance Trustee with strategic experience in finance functions across any sector. Candidates will have strategic experience in finance, and the Trust values someone who can contribute to making informed financial decisions. While an accounting qualification is not required, the role demands a solid understanding of financial principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret data and ask insightful questions.
