A-level students across our family of secondary schools have been praised for their determination and resilience after their A-level results were announced.

Clacton County High School’s sixth form college, Sigma Sixth Tendring, is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their A-levels and other equivalent qualifications this summer.
There were many outstanding individual results with the vast majority of students having achieved their first choice place at university.
Head of College, Sarah McKarry, said: “I am incredibly proud of our Year 13 students and so happy to be able to celebrate with them today following their efforts over the past two years. They have been a wonderful cohort.
“The utmost credit goes to them, their families and their teachers for their hard work and determination. I wish every one of our Year 13 leavers the very best for their next steps and longer term futures whether they are leaving us for university, apprenticeships, a gap year or employment.”

Year 13 students at Harwich and Dovercourt High School have been praised after their hard work and dedication saw them achieve an “exceptionally high” A-level pass rate.
All students who applied to university have been offered a place with 15% of all grades an A and a B.
Headteacher Kate Finch said: “It is an absolute pleasure to see these young adults make their journey successful all the way through Harwich and Dovercourt High School.
“All the teachers are so proud of the students and together we are all so proud to be a part of the HDHS community.”

The headteacher at Philip Morant School and College has praised the “extraordinary resilience” of students after they picked up their A-level results.
The Colchester school welcomed back post-16 students to celebrate their successes – including an ongoing increase in overall grades at both A-level and BTEC Sport.
Stephanie Neill, headteacher, said: “We continue to see students who have demonstrated such resilience to continue with education after so much disruption in their secondary school years.
“As the first year group who sat GCSEs after Covid-19, they have once again demonstrated true dedication to achieve such excellent grades at A-level and in Level 3 qualifications.
“We are delighted they have progressed so well with us in their time at Sigma Sixth Colchester.”
