An existing play area would also be extended, while additional car parking is also planned.
The scheme would create an extra 60 places in a bid to meet the growing demand for primary school places in the town.
Under the proposals, the school would be able to take its first intake of additional pupils in September this year, It is hoped the full expansion would be completed by September 2018.
Work is set to begin in November.
